Background & History

Tracy and Jon McGlothian founded The Mt. Olivet Group, LLC (TMOG, LLC) in August 2007. Initially operating under the VA Beach Sewing Solutions (www.vabss.com) banner, Tracy focused on sewing and embroidery for trade events and social groups. Over time, the business has expanded into a full-service sewing and embroidery provider, catering to the military market, small companies, and nationally recognized social groups. Operating under the tagline “concept to completion,” Tracy has successfully brought numerous entrepreneurial ideas to life. She also offers comprehensive one-stop shopping for all sewing and embroidery needs, distinguishing herself as one of the few providers offering both services. Pursuing her passion for sewing, she has taught more than 500 students in the local market. In 2010, Jon began offering project management services and training to project managers, gradually expanding this into developing and delivering tailored Professional Development Programs for military commands and corporations under the TMOG Learning Center (www.tmogllc.com) banner. In 2019, the TMOG Learning Center was certified to operate as a Vocational Post Secondary School by the State Council of Higher Education – Virginia (SCHEV) specializing in developing project managers. The TMOG Learning Center is an authorized vendor for the Army Credential Assistance Program, the Air Force Credentialing Opportunities On-Line (AF COOL), and accepts the GI Bill®.

Meaning Behind Our Logo

Our logo represents who we are, where we came from, how we will conduct our business and the direction that we are moving. Our compass provides direction and always points “true north.” • The gear sprockets are for processes. We believe that if you do right and do everything that you can do, all will work out. • The mountains represent stability. We are here for the long term. • The globe is our territory. We are not restricted by geography or by a lack of imagination. The colors “black and gold” were the founder’s high school colors, college colors, Army Regimental colors and fraternity colors. The name “Mt. Olivet” is the namesake of the community where the founders grew up. This community is located near Nashville, TN.
