Background & History

Tracy and Jon McGlothian formally established The Mt. Olivet Group, LLC in August 2007. Under the VA Beach Sewing Solutions (www.vabss.com) banner, Tracy focused on sewing and embroidery for local trade events and local social groups. Over time, it has evolved into a full-service sewing and embroidery business that services the military market, small companies, and nationally known social groups. Under the tagline, “concept to completion,” she has brought numerous ideas to life for entrepreneurs and also provides a complete one-stop shopping for all of your sewing and embroidery needs. She is one of the few embroiders that can provide both sewing and embroidery services. Wishing to share her love of sewing with others, she has taught over 500 students in the local market the art of sewing. In 2010, Jon began providing Project Management Services as well as training Project Managers. Over time, this has expanded into creating and delivering customized Professional Development Programs for military commands and corporations under the TMOG Learning Center (www.tmogllc.com) banner. In 2019, the TMOG Learning Center was “Certified To Operate by the State Council of Higher Education – Virginia” and began operating as a Vocational Post Secondary School specializing in developing project managers.

Meaning Behind Our Logo

Our logo represents who we are, where we came from, how we will conduct our business and the direction that we are moving.

Our compass provides direction and always points “true north.”
The gear sprockets are for processes. We believe that if you do right and do everything that you can do, all will work out.
The mountains represent stability. We are here for the long term.
The globe is our territory. We are not restricted by geography or by a lack of imagination.
The colors “black and gold” were the founder’s high school colors, college colors, Army Regimental colors and fraternity colors.
The name “Mt. Olivet” is the namesake of the community where the founders grew up. This community is located near Nashville, TN.
